Agitation Equipment

Ordinary Agitation Tank

The ordinary agitation tank conditions mineral slurry prior to downstream separation processes. It homogenises pulp and disperses reagents so that subsequent unit operations receive a consistent feed. This unit is typically installed after grinding and classification, feeding flotation banks or leaching circuits.

Technical parameters

Unlike high-concentration or lift-type agitators, this standard design suits free-settling pulps. The tank geometry and impeller type are selected from the model table to match required conditioning time.

Model codes follow the BJ-diameter×height pattern. Each row lists tank diameter, height, effective volume, impeller diameter, speed, motor power, and weight. As tank dimensions increase, effective volume and power requirement rise proportionally, enabling users to identify the unit that matches their target residence time and slurry characteristics.

Standard-model catalogue figures. Actual capacity, power draw and wear life shift with ore properties, feed gradation and circuit conditions. Use them to shortlist, then confirm the duty by testwork, flowsheet calculation and a written confirmation from the manufacturer.

What decides the selection

Before selecting a model, define the target slurry residence time, pulp density, and particle size distribution. These parameters govern the effective volume needed for adequate reagent contact and homogenisation. Material compatibility with the tank lining and impeller must also be confirmed if corrosive or abrasive ores are processed. Consult Xinhai’s process engineers for pilot-scale confirmation.
