XC II Classification and Thickening Hydrocyclone
The XC II hydrocyclone classifies and thickens mineral slurries using centrifugal force. It typically sits in a closed-circuit grinding line, receiving mill discharge and delivering a coarse underflow back to the mill while sending fine overflow to downstream concentration or dewatering.
Technical parameters
These models also serve as thickeners ahead of filtration or backfill circuits, pre-concentrating slurry to reduce the load on downstream equipment. The range includes 29 models to match different throughput and cut-size requirements.
The table lists 29 models ordered by processing capacity. Key parameters include classification size, overflow and underflow port diameters, and inlet pressure. Larger models handle more volume; smaller models suit fine cuts or limited space. Varying port diameters allow the same model family to shift the cut point without changing the cyclone body.

Standard-model catalogue figures. Actual capacity, power draw and wear life shift with ore properties, feed gradation and circuit conditions. Use them to shortlist, then confirm the duty by testwork, flowsheet calculation and a written confirmation from the manufacturer.
What decides the selection
Before selecting a model, define the target cut size, mass and volume throughput, feed solids concentration, and desired underflow density. These inputs, combined with the grinding circuit balance and available pumping head, determine which model suits the duty. Matching wear protection to ore abrasiveness ensures service life aligns with maintenance intervals.
